The Look of the Eagles

The Look of the Eagles

Inspired by the ‘Thouroughbred’ series

The look of the eagles is for all horses brave,
For all horses who are defiant and wild,
For all horses who are solemn and grave,
For all horses who are never quiet, never calm, never mild.

The look of the eagles is inside each horse,
Inside each colt, filly, gelding and mare,
Inside each horse who ever set foot on a race course,
Inside each horse who was as brave as a bear.

The look of the eagles is for all horses free,
For all horses untamed,
For all horses as wild as the raging sea,
For all horses unlamed.

The look of the eagles is never not there,
Never is gay,
Never shows a care
And never, ever will it fade away.

Lovely work, Jamie! I like your idea of comparing the wildness of the horse to that of the eagle.
