My horse can get really snotty, but it was because of the saddle. The saddle was too small, but we got a new saddle and now she is not a snot, but she still needs to learn more.

 Saddles and Snotty Horses

I know what you mean about your horse being “snotty” because of his saddle. I once rode a horse called Blue whose saddle had been ill-fitted. When I started to adjust his girth, he bit me on my arm. The bite didn’t bleed or anything, but the skin was broken and bruised. I thought that Blue was really horrid until my instructor realized that the girth had been far too tight.
