I own a Brown Thoroughbred gelding. He’s 15.1hh and rising 8 year-old. His last race was on the 1st of January 2011 and he was educated and left in a paddock.
He got neglected. I went and saw him as he was for sale at the time. He needed his feet trimmed, worming and rugged, and some feeding. He had bad rainscald all over his back and bum; his eyes weren’t bright at all. He looked rather sad.
Then I bought him, got him home and and put a rug straight on. Later in the week I got his hooves trimmed back into the right way and had him wormed and started getting his weight put on. On the sunny days I’d take his rug off and give him a quick wash and treated his rainscald and got him shod.
I ALSO HAD THE CHIROPRACTOR TOO SEE HIM.
NOW 2 MONTHS LATER, HIS RAINSCALD IS PRETTY MUCH ALL GONE, HE’S SHOD, WORMED AND IN GREAT CONDTION. HE’S LOSING HIS WINTER COAT AND STARTING TOO GET SHINEY. HE’S ALSO HAPPILY RUNNING AROUND AND ROLLING IN THE PADDOCK BEING AS HAPPY AS EVER!! 🙂
